Title:
METHOD FOR CALIBRATING OPTICAL SCANNING TYPE TWO-DIMENSIONAL PH DISTRIBUTION MEASURING INSTRUMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3229812
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously calibrate sensors within a wide pH range by bringing gels for isoelectric point electrophoresis into contact with the planar surfaces of the sensors as gels for calibration and, at the same time, to measure a two-dimensional pH distribution with high accuracy at high reproducibility.
SOLUTION: A plurality of gels 21 for calibration is formed by preparing a solution by mixing a carrier for isolectric point electrophoresis in a gel adjusting reagent of acrylamide gel, etc., and pouring the solution in a container made of a fluororesin. The gels 21 can be formed in such a state that the gels 21 show a uniform pH distribution when no voltage is applied across carbon electrodes 23, but show a plurality of pH areas 26 separated from each other by a plurality of boundaries 25 when the condition of the impressed electric field is changed variably or in other states. Firstly, entire surface calibration for checking the responding states of sensor surfaces to pH by using the gels 21 on the entire surfaces of which pH is uniformly distributed. In this case, the gels 21 are taken out from gel housing cases 27, because the gels 21 are housed in the cases 27, and the gels 21 are placed on the sensor surfaces, and then, a prescribed DC voltage is applied across the gels 21. Then divided calibration is performed and the responding states of the sensor surfaces to pH are confirmed by using the gels 21 having different pH areas 26.
