Abstract:
To provide a drive unit for a hybrid vehicle, which prevents decrease in fatigue strength of gears of a planetary gear mechanism and improves durability thereof.SOLUTION: A drive unit 100 for a hybrid vehicle comprises: an engine 1; a first motor generator 2; a first planetary gear mechanism 10; a second motor generator 3; a second planetary gear mechanism 20; a clutch mechanism 40 that connects or disconnects a sun gear 21 of the second planetary gear mechanism 20 and a ring gear 22; and a controller 40 that controls operation of the clutch mechanism 40 according a command of travel mode. If a disengagement determination unit determines that disengagement control is necessary when the clutch mechanism 40 is engaged by a command of HV low mode, the controller 4 temporarily cancels engagement of the clutch mechanism 40 so as to displace respective engaging positions of gears 21 to 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
