Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a drive unit having a motor part and a braking part, and a speed reduction device having the drive unit.SOLUTION: A drive unit 1 has a motor part 2, a base part 3, and a braking part 5. The motor part 2 has a rotor part 21 and a stator part 22. The stator part 22 is located radially inside the rotor part 21. The base part 3 has a first projection part 32 extending axially upward, supports the stator part 22, and extends in a direction orthogonal to a central axis J. The braking part 5 is supported by the base part 3, and has: a first movable element 51 and a second movable element 52 swingably supported by the first projection part 32; and an actuator unit 54 connected with both the first movable element 51 and the second movable element 52. An axial height of at least a part of the first movable element 51 and an axial height of at least a part of the second movable element 52 are the same as an axial height of a rotor magnet. Both the first movable element 51 and the second movable element 52 abut on an outer surface of a cylindrical part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
