To provide a drive unit for suppressing deformation of a rotor core in locking a rotor of a motor.
The drive unit 2 includes a first motor generator 4 disposed on a power transmission route and a lock mechanism 23 locking the rotor 4a of the first motor generator 4. The lock mechanism 23 includes a fixed side support member 24 fixed to a casing 13, a plurality of fixed side friction plate 25 attached to the fixed side support member 24, a rotary side support member 27 provided to the rotor 4a so as to be separated from a rotor core 15 with regard to the rotary shaft line Ax of the rotor 4a, and a rotary side friction plate 28 attached to the rotary side support member 27 and disposed between the fixed side friction plates 25 respectively.
