Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver authentication system and driver authentication unit capable of highly precisely authenticating a driver by collating a face photograph in a driving license with an image, which is obtained by imaging a driver's face, irrespective of an elapsed time since a date of issuance of the driving license.SOLUTION: A driver authentication system 1 includes an imaging unit 13 that images the face of a driver of a vehicle, a reader 12 that reads face image data of a licensee and issuance year/month/day data from a driving license A, a clock 14c that counts a current year/month/day, and a driver authentication unit 11. The driver authentication unit 11 includes a corrector that corrects the face image data, which is read by the reader 12, on the basis of a difference between a year/month/day, which is represented by the issuance year/month/day data read by the reader 12, and a year/month/day indicated by the clock 14c, and an authenticator that authenticates the driver on the basis of the image data, which is obtained by imaging the driver's face using the imaging unit 13, and the face image data corrected by the corrector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
