Abstract:

To provide a driver head of a golf club, which driver head is prevented from the exfoliation of paint from the top line thereof by improving the structure of a ball hitting plate welded to its body, and from generating cracks at the welded portions by evenly dispersing force applied to the ball hitting plate in vertical and horizontal directions when the driver head hits a ball and thereby improved in the rigidity of the welded portions and the directivity of the hit ball.

The driver head of a golf club comprises a body 10, which has a front opening and a hosel 11 provided at the side edge of the opening to be connected a shaft, and a ball hitting plate 20 welded onto the front thereof. The ball hitting plate 20 has a bent portion 21 inwardly and curvedly projecting from the edge thereof. The bent portion 21 is welded to the body 10, the welded portions W of the bent portion 21 and the body 10 are subjected to grinding, and the body 10 including the welded portions W is finished by painting.
