To provide a driver which is capable of preventing the breakage of a driving source upon the overload with a simple constitution, at the same time, reliably preventing the breakage of image carrier surface etc. that carries a toner image formed by an electrophotographic method and performing high quality image formation, and is low-cost, and to provide an image forming device provided with the driver.
The driver is composed of a cleaning member rotating drive shaft 1 for rotatively driving a cleaning member which is retained rotatably and cleans the surface of an image carrier, a driving source 2 for rotatively driving the cleaning member rotating drive shaft 1, a rotatively driving force transmitting means 3 for transmitting a rotatively driving force of the driving source 2 to the cleaning member rotating drive shaft 1, a rotatively driving force intermitting device 4 for intermitting a rotatively driving force with a prescribed overload of the rotatively driving force transmitting means 3 and a rotatively driving force intermittence detecting means 5 for detecting the state of intermittence of the rotatively driving force of the rotatively driving force transmitting means 3 by means of the rotatively driving force intermitting device 4.
