Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the resistance each of the plurality of heating elements constituting a thermal head.
SOLUTION: A thermal recorder 1 performing a printing by driving a plurality of heating elements constituting a thermal head 17 comprises a current supply 11 for supplying a constant current to a power supply line connected with these heating elements in order to measure the resistance thereof, an amplifier AMP 15 for amplifying the voltage being induced across each of the plurality of heating elements connected with the power supply line when they are turned on sequentially, an A/D converter 8 producing a voltage data by subjecting the output from the amp AMP 15 to A/D conversion, and a slave CPU 6 for calculating the resistance of each heating element based on the voltage data outputted from the A/D converter 8.
