Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the reliability by detecting distortion, when the stator is vibrating, through a comb tooth section and regulating the driving frequency.
CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic motor comprises a stator 1 having a piezoelectric body 2, a resilient body 3, an electrode 5, and the like. Driver for the ultrasonic motor comprises an oscillator 10, a 90° phase shifter 11, driver circuits 12a-12b, a time constant circuit 14, a comparator 17, and the like. A sensor 6 for detecting distortion of the stator is arranged at the come tooth section 3a of the resilient body 3. Driving frequency of the stator 1 is regulated through utilization of the detected distortion thus regulating the driving speed.
