Abstract:
The invention relates to a drive train for motor vehicles (2), comprising a driving engine (4), a transmission (8), a disengaging clutch (6) interposed between the driving engine (4) and the transmission (8), and a retarder (56), configured as a permanent brake device, that can be engaged with a gear shaft (30, 38). An unsynchronized dog clutch is provided for engaging the retarder (56). The speed between the retarder (56) and the gear shaft (30, 38) is adjusted by means of the disengaging clutch (6) between the driving engine (4) and the transmission (8).
