Abstract:
To provide a driving apparatus and method for a liquid crystal display with which an NTSC image signal can be selectively converted into another signal format in response to an instruction by a user.
The driving apparatus for the liquid crystal display comprises: a liquid crystal panel, having liquid crystal cells arranged at crossings of gate lines and data lines, for displaying an image signal in an image format different from an input image signal; a switch for generating a pulse signal by the operation of a user; a counter for counting the pulse signal; and a timing controller for changing the image format of said image signal displayed on the liquid crystal display panel in response to an input signal from the counter.
