To improve the visibility of pedestrians and the like in front of a vehicle.
In this driving assisting device of a vehicle, ultraviolet rays are emitted toward a target existing in front of a vehicle (ST160). The ultraviolet rays are reacted to highlight the target, so that a driver can clearly recognize the target in front of the vehicle. However, for example when the target does not contain fluorescence agent, the target might not be highlighted even by emitting the ultraviolet rays. Therefore, it is judged whether the driver can visually recognize the target radiated with the ultraviolet rays or not (ST170), and when it is judged that the target cannot be recognized, visible lights are emitted to the target (ST190). Thus, the driver can easily recognize the target which is difficult to visually recognize even with emission of the ultraviolet rays.
