This control system comprises a storage means storing road data, a route setting means for setting the route to the destination based on the road data, a prediction means for predicting a traveling pattern of the set route based on the road data, and a control means for setting an operation schedule of an engine and a motor based on the predicted traveling pattern and controlling operations of the engine and the motor according to the set operation schedule. The control means detects the actual SOC of the vehicle during traveling, and resets the operation schedule from the current position of the vehicle to the destination when the difference between the detected actual SOC and the SOC contained in the operation schedule exceeds a threshold.
