PURPOSE: To ensure always accurate metering, by dividing a fuel injection time width to set a first time width for opening a fuel injection valve, a second time width for weakening a valve opening speed, and a third time width for maintaining a valve full opening condition.

CONSTITUTION: In a driving device for a fuel injection valve A having a valve member to be driven by supplying current to a driving coil, there is provided a fuel injection time width setting means B for setting a fuel injection time width according to an engine operational condition. There is further provided a division setting means C for driving the fuel injection time width set by the means B to set a first time width for opening the valve member of the fuel injection valve A, a second time width for weakening a valve opening speed of the valve member, and a third time width for maintaining a fuel open condition of the valve member. Then, a driving pulse is set by a driving pulse setting means D according to the first and the second time width set by the means C, and the fuel injection valve A is controlled by a supply current control means E according to the driving pulse.
