To provide a driving device of an instrument capable of storing continuously vehicle state data at a running time along a circuit course or the like, even when a vehicle is allowed to enter the pit during running in a circuit race or the like and an ignition switch is switched off.

This device is equipped with: an instrument 6 having state display parts 6b, 6c, 6d for displaying the vehicle state; control means 4a, 6a for inputting a state signal showing the vehicle state, calculating vehicle state data showing a measured value of the vehicle state based on the state signal, and operating the state display parts 6b, 6c, 6d based on the vehicle state data; and a storage means 4b for storing synchronously the vehicle state data during a prescribed time and other data other than the vehicle state data. The control means 4a, 6a are provided so that a vehicle speed detection signal from a vehicle speed sensor 2a can be input as the state signal, and controls so that the vehicle state data and the other data are stored in the storage means 4b corresponding to the input of the vehicle speed detection signal.
