To provide a driving device that prevents direct transfer, to a driven member, of vibration by friction caused between a friction engaging member and a driving member, has a simple structure, easily installs a position detecting section, and accurately detects the position; and to provide a lens driving device.
This driving device includes a holding member 11, a driving member 12, a friction engaging member 13 that is disposed in the holding member 11 and supports the driving member 12 in a friction engaging state, an electric-mechanical sensing element 14 where one end face of the expansion/contraction direction is fixed to the end surface of the driving member 12, the driven member 15 fixed to the other end surface of the electric-mechanical sensing element 14, a conductive resistance element 16 disposed along the moving direction of the driven member 15 and in parallel to the moving direction of the driven member 15, a conductive sliding element 17a that is disposed in the driven member 15 and is slidably in contact with the resistance element 16, and a position detecting section 18a for detecting the position of the driven member 15 by detecting the electric information amounts at one end or both ends of the resistance element 16 and the position of the sliding element.
