To provide a driving device for sunroof capable of providing high degree of freedom of a part layout and a satisfactory assembly property and adaptable to various specifications easily.
This driving device for sunroof is provided with an electric motor 12, a worm gear 16 provided on an armature shaft 15 of the electric motor 12, a worm wheel gear 17 meshing with the worm gear 16, an output shaft 20 connected to the worm wheel gear 17, and a driving gear 11 provided on the output shaft 20 to mesh with a wire driving a roof panel. A fitting hole 24 which is a manual operation part on the main body side for driving the roof panel manually in case of emergency is provided on the output shaft 20. A panel position detection mechanism 14 is formed as a detachable and independent unit on the output shaft 20, and a tool hole 34 is provided as a manual operation part on the unit side in the panel position detection mechanism 14.
