Abstract:

To prevent bad influence to vehicle stability by temperature rising of a drive force variable distribution differential from being caused, in a four-wheel drive vehicle capable of performing drive force distribution control of left and right wheels by adopting the drive force variable distribution differential.

The drive force distribution control device includes a means for determining the maximum generatable acceleration in each of at execution and non-execution of variable distribution of the drive force by both and any one of drive force distribution differential for a front wheel and drive force distribution differential for a rear wheel during turning of the vehicle; and a means for determining execution and non-execution of variable distribution by operation of drive force distribution differential based on comparison of the maximum generatable acceleration at execution of drive force variable distribution of drive force distribution differential with a value obtained by multiplying the maximum generatable acceleration at non-execution of drive force variable distribution of the differential on temperature coefficient determined based on the temperature.
