To provide a driving force transmission device capable of traveling a vehicle in an opposite direction even if an electric motor cannot be rotated.
This driving force transmission device is provided with front wheels 11 having an engine 13 as a driving source, rear wheels 12 having the electric motor 16 with a speed reducer as a driving source and a driving gear. A two-way clutch 19 is incorporated into a transmission path from the driving gear to the rear wheels 12 to prevent the transmission of rotary torque from the rear wheels 12 to an output shaft 18 when traveling the vehicle by driving the engine 13. The driving force transmission device is provided with a clutch for making the driving gear rotatable in relation to the output shaft 18 and releasing the connection of the driving gear and the output shaft 18 in a stop state of the electric motor 16. When the electric motor cannot be rotated due to an abnormality of the electric motor 16 in the traveling state of the vehicle to stop the electric motor 16, the vehicle is switched to a traveling mode in the opposite direction, and power is transmitted to the electric motor 16 side from the rear wheel 12 via the two-way clutch 19, the driving gear is freely rotated to interrupt the transmission of power to the electric motor 16.
