Abstract:

To provide a four-wheel drive vehicle of an FF vehicle base having superior fuel consumption by reducing friction losses by a rear wheel driving system in a two-wheel drive mode.

A transmitting apparatus 10 for a four-wheel drive vehicle includes a first disengaging mechanism 28 that disengages a driving force to a first driving-force transmitting direction converting unit 20 for converting the rotational direction of the driving force from an engine 14 and transmitting it to rear wheels, and a second disengaging mechanism 30 provided between a rear wheel differential mechanism 26 and a right rear wheel driving shaft 75 to disengage the driving force. An ECU 25 stops the rotation of the rear wheel driving system by uncoupling the first disengaging mechanism 28 after the second disengaging mechanism 30 is uncoupled when changing the mode from the four-wheel drive mode to the two-wheel drive mode, and couples the first disengaging mechanism 28 after coupling the second disengaging mechanism 30 when changing the mode from the two-wheel drive mode to the four-wheel drive mode.
