To prevent a driving force transmitting apparatus 10 from changing a transmitting characteristic to be caused by the generation of worn powder, by controlling the generation of the worn powder caused by frictional wear between a valve body 15 forming a valve mechanism 10e and housing space R forming a pressed force generating mechanism 10d, in a driving force transmitting apparatus 10 providing the valve mechanism 10e controlling the occurrence of four-wheel driving conditions, by controlling the generation of pressed force on the pressed force generating mechanism 10d when a vehicle travels at a speed higher than the designated speed.
A space arranging the valve body 15 of the valve mechanism 10e is formed between respective adjacent vanes 13b of a rotor 13 at the housing space R of the pressed force generating mechanism 10d. A controlling portion for moving the valve body 15 beyond a designated distance to an outer peripheral side is arranged on the space. Thus, sliding contact between an outer periphery 15c of the valve body 15 and an inner periphery 11b1 of the housing space R is controlled.
