Title:
DRIVING METHOD OF ANTIFERROELECTRIC LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0720441
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a display whose flicker is inconspicuous by inverting the polarity of the nonselection voltages of not only scanning electrodes which are selected for interlaced scanning, but unselected scanning electrodes.

CONSTITUTION: A scanning-side driving circuit 15 is connected to the scanning electrodes L of an AFLC panel 1 and a signal-side driving circuit 16 is connected to the signal electrodes S. The scanning-side driving circuit 15 is a circuit for impressing the voltage to the scanning electrodes L and consists of a shift register 17a, a latch 18a, and an analog switch array 19a, and an inputted display Y1 is transferred by synchronizing the shift register 17a with a clock CK. In this case, every Nth scanning electrode L is selected for interlaced scanning and the polarity of the voltage impressed to pixels on the scanning electrode L is inverted; when the pixels on the selected scanning electrode L are in a 1st stable state, the pixels are rewritten into a 3rd stable state at the same time and when the pixels are in a 2nd stable state. the stable state is held.
