The driving method for the drop discharging apparatus, employed to discharge a liquid matter by applying drive waveform VF to a head for discharging drops and equipped with a nozzle to discharge the liquid matter, comprises extrusion of the liquid matter from the nozzle without discharging until the liquid matter is not discharged from the head for discharging drops and applying the drive waveform VF having strength to draw from this state to the head for discharging drops. Then, the liquid matter adhered to the periphery part of the nozzle is recovered.
