Abstract:
PURPOSE: To grasp threshold current without interrupting modulation operation of semiconductor laser.
CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor laser 2 is placed adjacent to a semiconductor laser 1 which sends output light as signals after bias current is controlled, and is operated to detect the threshold equivalent to that of the laser 1 in temperature chracteristics. Then a current having same magnitude as that of the detected threshold current is fed as a bias current to the laser 1.
