PURPOSE: To make a dynamic range large by photoelectric-converting incident light, reading a stored electric charge by N times as much as the vertical synchronous frequency of a television signal, transferring in a vertical direction, adding N times per one field, transferring to a horizontal transfer means over the next one field in order and after that outputting.
CONSTITUTION: Incident light is subjected to photoelectric conversion by a photoelectric converting means 1, and after that, is stored in the photoelectric converting means 1 and an electric charge is read with the N times as often as the vertical synchronous frequency of a television signal and is transferred to a vertical transfer means 2. Moreover, the electric charge is transferred in a vertical direction, after that, is transferred to an adding means 4, the electric charge is added N times per one field and total electric charge between the one field is transferred to a storing means 5. The electric charge stored in the storing means 5 is transferred to a horizontal transfer means 6 by the part over the next one field and is outputted to an output end 7. Thus, a large dynamic range can be obtained.
