PURPOSE: To shorten a settling time by exciting a phase excited immediately before a stopping phase to generate a braking effect of the winding of adjacent phase.
CONSTITUTION: Retriggerable monostable multivibrator 15 and a monostable multivibrator 16 are provided. The multivibrator 16 generates a pulse of time width T2 at braking time. Thus, when an exciting current flows to the winding 5b of the second phase corresponding to the stopping angle position, an exciting current flows for a period T2 to the winding 5a of the first phase in which a current flows till the time immediately before a current flow to the windage 5b of the second phase of the stopping angle position. Thus, it comes into 2-phase exciting state only for this period to generate a braking force, thereby stopping without vibration.
