The driving performance auxiliary device for a vehicle calculates a risk potential on a preceding vehicle ahead of a vehicle concerned, and performs control of an accelerator pedal reaction force according to a risk potential. In this case, when an object of accelerator pedal reaction force control is switched due to alteration of a lane, the risk potential of a preceding vehicle before alteration of the lane and the risk potential of the preceding vehicle after alteration of the lane are compared with each other, and an accelerator pedal reaction force is corrected based on a comparison result.
