PURPOSE: To obtain an inexpensive printer of a simplified structure for bankbook, etc. by using a system in which printing papers are directed in the sending direction by turning a pinch roller and then sent to a given position while being held by the pinch roller.
CONSTITUTION: When a printing paper 41 is inserted into between printing paper guides 33 and 33', it is selected by an optical sensor 34, pinch rollers 37 and 37' turn inwardly at an interval, respectively, and the printing paper 41 is directed to between printing paper pathways 40 and 40'. When the tip of the printing paper 41 is stopped by a stopper 35 and its lower end is detected by an optical sensor 36, the rotation of the pinch rollers 37 and 37' is stopped. Then, the pinch roller 37 is pressed on the pinch roller 37' while putting the paper 41 between them by the attraction of a spring 39, the stopper 35 is separated from the lower end of the paper 41, and then the pinch rollers 37 and 37' turn to send the paper 41 to printing position.
