Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of adjusting the timing of support start when detecting freeze at the right/left turns or start.SOLUTION: A driving support device is configured to detect the other vehicle which travels around an own vehicle, that is, the other vehicle whose traveling may be interrupted by the right/left turns or start of the own vehicle, and to calculate a collision prediction time between the detected other vehicle and the own vehicle, and to detect that a road surface around the own vehicle is frozen, and to notify the driver of the own vehicle of the approach of the other vehicle to the own vehicle. The driving support device is configured to, when the freeze of the road surface is not detected, and the calculated collision prediction time is equal to or less than a first threshold, notify the driver of the own vehicle of the approach of the other vehicle to the own vehicle, and to, when the freeze of the road surface is detected, and the calculated collision prediction time is equal to or less than a second threshold larger than a first threshold, notify the driver of the own vehicle of the approach of the other vehicle to the own vehicle.
