To provide a drop testing device capable of carrying out a drop test by easily holding the desired attitude of even a large and heavy packing box for large-sized AV equipment.

A base 2 comprising a frame part 20 and a skeleton part 20a is held at a predetermined distance above a base 1 by a base holding member 3. A holding plate 21 fixed to a post 202 by an elastic body 22 is disposed on the upper face of the base 2, and the packing box 100 is placed on the upper face of the holding plate 21. The packing box 100 is covered with a net 200 for holding the attitude, and four corners of the net 200 are fitted to posts 201a-201d arranged around the base 1. Since the holding plate 21 is released from the clamping force of the base 2 and packing box 100 at the start of the drop test, it retreats to the outside of a drop region of the packing box 100 by the restoring force of the elastic body 22.
