To provide a droplet ejector which can reduce the visibility of uneven streaks, caused by a two-dimensional arrangement structure of a nozzle and a difference in droplet ejection time difference between adjacent dots, and an image forming apparatus.
In this droplet ejector having a plurality of ejection heads (12M and 12LM) with an ejection surface on which the nozzles are two-dimensionally arranged, a repetition period of the uneven streaks is shortened by arranging the nozzles in such a manner that positions (a position between the nozzle M-16 and nozzle M-21, and a position between the nozzle LM-16 and the nozzle LM-21) among the nozzles, in which a droplet ejection time difference between the dots adjacent to each other in a main-scanning direction is different from a droplet ejection time difference between the other adjacent dots, are made different from each other in the main-scanning direction between at least two ejection heads (12M and 12LM). Additionally, a main-scanning-direction distance between the nozzles (e.g. M-16 and M-21) is made shorter than a main-scanning-direction distance between the other nozzles. Otherwise, the nozzles (M-16 and M-21) are arranged on the same sub-scanning-direction line so as to be selectively and properly used.
