PURPOSE: To obtain a drug for external use, containing hyaluronic acid having a specific molecular weight and/or a salt thereof, having excellent feeling of use on the skin without stickiness, sliminess and stretch feeling and used as cosmetics, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A drug for external use, such as toilet water, cream, milky lotion or pack, obtained by treating hyaluronic acid present in mammalian connective tissues with an enzyme, acid, alkali heat, etc., to reduce molecular weight, removing high-molecular weight substances fro the treated substance and blending the resultant hyaluronic acid having <10,000, preferably 9,000W3,000 average molecular weight and/or salt thereof with a base, adjuvant of the drug for external used, etc. The amount of the hyaluronic acid or salt thereof blended is about 0.1W5% based on the total weight of various drugs for external use.
