Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical for ameliorating neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer type dementia, Lewy body type dementia, frontotemporal dementia, multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical for ameliorating neurodegenerative diseases comprises a combination of the following A) and B). A) a xanthine oxidase/xanthine dehydrogenase inhibitor. B) a hypoxanthine or a compound that can be converted into hypoxanthine in the body. A) is preferably one or more selected from febuxostat, topiroxostat, allopurinol, hydroxyalkane, carprofen and Y-700. B) is preferably at least one compound selected from inosine, inosinic acid, adenosine, AMP, ADP, ATP, succinyl adenosine, S-adenosyl methionine, S-adenosyl homocysteine and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: None
