The drum brake device 11 includes: primary and secondary shoes 13, 15; a wheel cylinder 17 including primary and secondary pistons 51, 53; a rotatable primary control lever 43 with a rocking end 43a thereof set between the primary shoe 13 and the primary piston 51; a rotatable secondary control lever 45 with a rocking end 45a thereof set between the secondary shoe 15 and the secondary piston 53; a first link 63 with one link end 73 pivotally supported by the secondary control lever 45 and the other link end 75 pivotally supported by the primary control lever 43; and a preset spring 59 provided between the primary piston 51 and the secondary piston 53.
