To provide a drum-type washing machine making a rotational reduction rate between a washing/spin-drying tub and a motor shaft larger, downsizing a motor and reducing the number of component parts.
The drum-type washing machine is provided with the washing/spin-drying tub 33 rotatably disposed inside a water tub 32, the motor 20 fixed to the outer bottom of the tub 32, a control means 34 for controlling the motor 20, a driven pulley 37 fixed to the tub 33 and a belt 38 for transmitting rotations of the motor 20 to the pulley 37. The control means 34 utilizes an alternating-current drive circuit of the motor 20 consisting of a commutator motor. Forming a plurality of V grooves 43 on the end of the motor shaft 39 of the motor 20 to increase the reduction rate simplifies a control circuit, downsizing the motor 20, reducing assembling man-hours and the number of the component parts and providing the drum-type washing machine with inexpensiveness and excellent productivity.
