Abstract:
To solve such a problem that the maintenance inspection of wear caused between a lining material and a brake drum requires an engineer who inspects the inner diameter of the brake drum and determines whether the brake drum gets to a maximum scrap diameter, and the inspection involves hard and time-consuming work.
The brake drum includes at least one groove formed in the inside braking face. The groove defines a uniform maximum depth matching to the drum scrap diameter. When the groove is visually identified during inspection, the brake drum is proved to be still usable. When the groove is no longer visually identified, the brake drum should be scrapped.
