Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform the structural reinforcement of a dry cell during crimping and improve its property of sealing by using metal titan with good conductivity but reactive to an electrolyte whose principal component is ammonium chloride or zinc chloride, as the reinforcing member of a positive electrode active material.

CONSTITUTION: A negative electrode active material 5 is added to a packing 3 integrated with a negative electrode can 1 and metal titan that is insoluble in an electrolyte whose principal component is ammonium chloride or zinc chloride is made to act as a reinforcing member which forms. A positive electrode pedestral 8 on a surface where the separator 4 of the positive electrode active material 6 that is opposed to a packing bottom 9 is made to touch through the separator 4. A button type manganese dry cell with such a structure is almost the same as the positive electrode hard active material pellet of a silver button type cell and its firm sealing is possible. Besides, as shown in Figs. (a) to (c), both flat and L-shaped rings suppress the deformation of active material of the positive electrode. Especially, the inside cutoff shown in Item (a) has an effect on the shrinkage of the separator and the separator can be suppressed better than a normal flat ring.
