Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry cooling apparatus which can suppress sufficiently occurrence of wet dust due to drifting of exhaust gas, though having compact sizes, and an exhaust gas cooling method using the apparatus.SOLUTION: A dry cooling apparatus is for cooling exhaust gas from a molten metal refining furnace and includes a stirring part having a passage of an equivalent diameter d extending from above to below, a cooling apparatus body which has a taper part increasing in the cross section of the passage downward from the junction with the stirring part and a straight cylindrical part of an equivalent diameter D extending downward from the junction with the taper part, a plurality of spray nozzles for stirring provided at a position separated upward, by a distance L, from the junction of the stirring part with the taper part, a plurality of spray nozzles for cooling provided inside the straight cylindrical part and an exhaust port provided in the lower part of the cooling apparatus body. The equivalent diameter d of the stirring part, the equivalent diameter D of the straight cylindrical part, and the distance L meet a specified condition.
