Title:
DRY PIT FOR SHELL WATER BOTTOM CONNECTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2013209797
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a dry pit for shell water bottom connection, capable of forming a dry work space at a water bottom without the need of a large-sized heavy machine, a work ship or many materials, even for a pipe line of a relatively large pipe diameter.

To an upper end of a dry pit bottom part cylindrical body 1 installed on a water bottom surface, a dry pit upper cylindrical body 2 of such a length that an upper end reaches above a water surface is separably connected, and on mutually symmetrical positions of an outer peripheral surface of a junction of both cylindrical bodies 1 and 2, a window 5 for shell end insertion formed by joining both cylindrical bodies is provided. In the state of installing the dry pit bottom part cylindrical body 1 at the water bottom and inserting ends of shells A1 and A2 to be connected to each other to the respective windows 5 for the shell end insertion, the dry pit upper cylindrical body 2 is joined and connected onto the dry pit bottom part cylindrical body 1, water is drained from the inside of the cylindrical body, and thus the dry work space is formed.
