Abstract:

To provide an apparatus and method for aerosolizing a powdered medicament.

The apparatus 10 is for aerosolizing a powered medicament and includes: a housing; a pressurization cylinder; a piston which is slidable within the cylinder to pressurize a gas, the piston being pivotally mounted on the housing; a handle 40 operably mounted on the housing and the cylinder to move the cylinder with respect to the piston to pressurize the gas within the cylinder; and an aerosolizing mechanism 16 configured to accept the gas from the cylinder and aerosolize a powdered medicament.
