PURPOSE: To obtain a dry pulverizing assistant easy to handle and excelling in dispersibility when a material to be pulverized is pulverized in the dry state in a pulverizer by using a granular or powdery substance of sublimating material as a dry pulverizing assistant added to the pulverizer together with the material to be pulverized.
CONSTITUTION: In a pulverizer 1 in which plural ring members 4 are abutted on the inner wall of a vessel to pulverize a material to be pulverized in the dry state, as a dry pulverizing assistant added together with the material to be pulverized, a granular or powdery substance of sublimating material is used. As the granular or powdery substance of sublimating material, a so-called vaporization rust preventive such as nitrite or a carboxylate of amines or an ester of carboxyl acids or a mixture of these compounds and other substances is used. Since such as a dry pulverizing assistant is solid, that is, a granular or powdery substance, it is easy to handle, and immediately after added to the pulverizer, it is mixed with the material to be pulverized and agitated well. In addition, it is sublimated and turned into gas which is uniformly dispersed.
