Title:
DRY SINTERED FRICTION MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS58157928
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a Cu-base dry sintered friction material having a stable coefft. of friction and improved attacking action on its opposite material by blending Cu with Sn, Zn, a metallic oxide consisting of hard particles, graphite, MoS2, Pb, CaF2 and Mn in a prescribed weight ratio.

CONSTITUTION: This dry sintered friction material is made of a sintered Cu alloy consisting of, by weight, 60W80% Cu, 3W10% Sn, ≤15% Zn, a metallic oxide consisting of hard particles such as Al2O3, 3W10% graphite, 1W5% MoS2, ≤8% Pb, ≤10% CaF2 and ≤15% Mn. This friction material has a relatively high coefft. of friction such as about 0.4W0.5, resistance to thermal and water fading phenomena, improved attacking action on its opposite material, and improved squeaking resistance.
