Abstract:
To provide a dry solid of a hydrophobizing and modified cellulose fiber so as to be able to sufficiently disperse in a hydrophobic solvent or a hydrophobic polymer after drying and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A dry solid obtained by drying a modified cellulose fiber in which an amine compound is ion bonded or amide bonded to at least a part of carboxylic group of a modified cellulose fiber containing carboxyl groups, furthermore carbonic acid is ester bonded to at least part of hydroxyl groups of the modified cellulose fiber, wherein the amine compound is a primary to tertiary amine compound or a quarternary amine compound, has a straight chain aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 16 to 30 carbons, the carbonic acid is a re-dispersing dry solid represented by RCOOH (in the formula, R represents a straight chain aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 13 to 30 carbon atoms.SELECTED DRAWING: None
