Title:
DRY TYPE EXHAUST GAS DESULFURIZATION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS56166919
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify a dry type desulfurization method without the needs for installing independent activating tower by a method in which semi-coke as an adsorbent for SO2, obtained from carbonization of coal, is introduced into a desorption tower and activated by steam present in exhaust gas.

CONSTITUTION: Coal is burned in a boiler 6, and the exhaust gas is directed to an adsorption tower 10, where SO2 present in the exhaust gas is adsorbed on an adsorbent and clean gas is discharged from a line 12. Part of the coal is supplied to a carbonization tower 24 and carbonized there to form semi-coke which is in turn sent to a desorption tower 14, where SO2 is removed from the adsorbent delivered from the adsorption tower 10 to obtain SO2-enriched gas. The SO2-enriched gas is then sent to a reducer 40 to recover sulfur. The semi-coke sent to the desorption tower 14 is activated by steam present in the exhaust gas and then sent to the adsorption tower 10 for reuse as the adsorbent for SO2.
