PURPOSE: To prevent hot and humid air from being discharged into a room and also shorten a drying time and improve the performance of dehumidification and save running water for cooling.

CONSTITUTION: A ventilation wind tunnel, and a heat exchanger 7 enclosed therein are provided on the air discharge side of a drum 1, and cooling water is fed intermittently to a cooling pipe 9, and dehumidified air is heated through a heating heater 6, and then, ventilated into the drum 1 again from the front of the drum 1, and thus, clothing is dried. Also, as the heat exchanger 7 is arranged in the ventilation wind tunnel with the direction of cooling fins 10 inclined against a ventilating direction in the ventilation wind tunnel, circulation air passing the inside of the ventilation wind tunnel flows between cooling fins 10 in a roundabout route, and its flow becomes turbulent, and so the efficiency of heat exchange becomes better, and the saving of cooling water and the shortening of a drying time becomes possible, and at the same time the heat exchanger having a large heat exchange area can be provided in a narrow space without occupying much space, and space saving is realized.
