To prevent a water-containing material not dried enough from being discharged and to prevent a water-containing material not dried enough from staying in a drier.SOLUTION: A dryer 1 comprises a casing 3 having a feed port through which a water-containing material is charged and a pair of side-face discharge ports 9 formed on either side face of the rear part thereof, a first group 21 of rotary shafts equipped with a plurality of rotary shafts rotating clockwise viewed from the front side and a second group 22 of rotary shafts disposed on the right side of the first group 21 of rotary shafts and equipped with a plurality of rotary shafts rotating counter-clockwise viewed from the front side, a plurality of disks 6, and a bottom face discharge port 8 formed on the bottom face of the rear part of the casing 3 without a dam formed therearound, which the plurality of disks 6 rotating between the shafts are arranged so that the rotation loci thereof do not overlap, with granules resulting from the water-containing material being discharged from the pair of side-face discharge ports 9 if the water-containing material is dried enough to form granules and the water-containing material not dried enough to form granules being discharged from the bottom face discharge port 8 if the water-containing material is not dried enough to form granules, and the water-containing material discharged from the bottom face discharge port 8 being charged into the feed port.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
