To provide a dryer of polymer powder comprising a cylindrical container capable of extracting easily even particles having a large particle size or strong adhesiveness, concerning polymer powder after olefin is subjected to a polymerization reaction, without sticking or clogging the polymer powder by removing efficiently therefrom a trace amount of unreacted monomer and/or solvent, and capable of drying the polymer powder stably and efficiently at high drying speed; and to provide a method for producing a polymer including a step of drying the polymer powder after the olefin is subjected to the polymerization reaction, by using the dryer.
In a dryer of polymer powder, a microporous gas permeable membrane sheet is provided on the whole lower part in a cylindrical container having a cone-shaped lower part, without adhering to the container, and gas blowing-in ports are provided on two specific spots, and inert gas having a specific temperature is blown into the gas blowing-in ports. A method for producing a polymer by using the same is also provided.
