PURPOSE: To obtain a dryer for producing green tea leaves, composed of a fluidized bed dryer part and a band type dryer part and capable of continuously drying a large amount of the green tea leaves.
CONSTITUTION: The dryer for producing green tea is composed of a fluidized bed dryer part 10 and a band type dryer part 30. The fluidized bed dryer part 10 is equipped with a perforated plate 14, having a series of through holes in the whole and attached to a space between a pair of endless chains stretched on sprockets and hot air is fed from the lower part thereof. The green tea leaves on the perforated plate 14 are floated, stirred and dried. Both ends of the perforated plate 14 at right angles from the moving direction are rounded and the floated green tea leaves can thereby be moved. Plural conveyors 32 are provided in the band type drying part 30 and hot air is fed parallel to the conveyors 32 to further dry the green tea leaves. The hot air vented from the band type dryer is partially fed to the fluidized bed dryer and reutilized. The moisture content and temperature of the green tea leaves after the drying treatment are measured to control the dryer for producing the green tea leaves so as to uniformize the quality of the green tea leaves.
