To provide a mold manufacturing method that can dry the mold in a short time without fail even if manufacturing a large-sized mold, and can suppress the generation of a stain spot, and to provide a drying apparatus which is suitably used for the manufacturing method.
In the drying apparatus 1 which dries a cylindrical mold body 10 having a fine uneven structure at its peripheral surface, the drying apparatus 1 includes: a rotator 20 which rotates the mold body 10; a first air nozzle 30 which sprays air to the peripheral surface of the rotating mold body 10, and dries the mold body 10; and a water spray nozzle 40 which sprays air and simultaneously sprays water to the peripheral surface of the mold body 10 which is not sprayed with air. The manufacturing method of the mold has: a fine unevenness forming step which forms a fine unevenness structure on the surface of a cylindrical base material, and obtains the mold body 10; a cleaning step which cleans the mold body 10; and a drying step which dries the cleaned mold body 10 by using the drying apparatus 1.
