To provide a less costly drying-carbonizing apparatus for organic raw materials producing a dried and carbonized material of good quality by a low temperature treatment while saving energy.
This apparatus dries and carbonizes an organic raw material using superheated steam. The apparatus includes a treatment tank 2 as a lower cone part 2a, a hollow shaft 4 located in the treatment tank 2, and a superheated steam generator 12 located at the upper part of the treatment tank 2. The treatment tank 2 is provided with a feed inlet 2b, through which an organic waste is charged, at the bottom part thereof, as well as a product outlet 2c, through which the carbonized or dried product is discharged, at the upper part thereof. The hollow shaft 4 is connected with stirring blades 5 in multiple stages, each stirring blade 5 being provided with a blade 9 to scoop up the product, rotating along the inner surface of the cone part 2a, at the tip thereof. Superheated steam 50 from the superheated steam generator is introduced at the top of the hollow shaft 14, and the superheated steam 50 is ejected from the bottom of the hollow shaft 4.
